Patriot Front Member that Tried to Crash Pride Event in Idaho Pleads Guilty to Sexual Exploitation of a Child

Patriot Front said they were trying to protect children. They failed miserably. Boyce is looking at 30 years.

It is almost a year since members of the neo-fascist group Patriot Front were arrested as they attempted to march through a Pride event in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho in what authorities say was an attempt to incite a riot. The rationale they and other neo-fascists there that day maintained that the event known as Pride in the Park protest was actually a promotion of pedophilia that should not be allowed. Ironically the arrest of the 31 Patriot Front Members resulted in one facing charges of his own when the FBI searched images of his phone a month after the arrests and found children engaging in sex acts.

Last month Jared Michael Boyce, 28 or Springville, Utah, pleaded guilty in a Utah court to nine felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and a misdemeanor count of dealing in material harmful to a minor. He is due to be sentenced in Tuesday in Provo, Utah and faces up to 30 years in prison.

According to jail records, Boyce had been incarcerated four times in Utah County since the June 11^th arrest in Coeur D’Alene where he still faces charges of incitement to riot. The first arrest for Carrying a Dangerous Weapon Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs was just one month later, well after his mother threw him out of her home after his Coeur D’Alene arrest for choosing Patriot Front over his family. A bench warrant was issued in February in Coeur D’Alene when he failed to appear on the charges there and he was arrested on March 10 on the child exploitation charges.

Boyce had been known for his neo-fascist activism well before Patriot Front, being a longtime fan of the Vancouver, Washington group Patriot Prayer. Using the name “Brohumrie Matey” on Facebook at the time, he was one of 200 associates of that group who marched in a massive rally in Portland on Aug. 4, 2018 that included Proud Boys white supremacists and a larger group of antifascists opposing the rally. The rally devolved into chaos when police began attacking the antifascists and ordered the entire rally to disperse. Boyce’s Twitter appearance, ironically under the screen name “@PedosnJooshang,” a variation on “Pedos and Jews Hang,” included antisemitic and racist messages before it was taken down.

Boyce was one of five Patriot Front members that failed to appear in court for the Coeur D’Alene arrests. Graham Whitson, who is also a member of the neo-fascist media group Media2Rise, whose founder Robert Rundo was recently arrested in Romania and is due to be extradited to the United States on federal rioting charges, was announced in April to be on Idaho’s Most Wanted List after he skipped his court appearance. James Julius Johnson, Connor P. Moran, Derek Joseph Smith are the other members that missed their court appearances, resulting in bench warrants.
