Neo-Fascist Facing 30 Years Max For Child Porn Only Gets One

May 30, 2023: Jared Michael Boyce in Court

It really boggles the mind how the concern for protecting children from pedophiles often seems to stop where the right are the ones they need to be protected from.

PROVO, Utah – Jared Michael Boyce’s Twittle handle was “@PedosnJooshang,” a shortened way for him to say “Pedos and Jews Hang.” On Tuesday the Patriot Front member saw far less a fate for himself than one he hoped would befall other pedophiles. In fact, it was far less than the thirty years maximum he was facing after he plead guilty to nine felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and a misdemeanor count of dealing in material harmful to a minor.

Fourth District Court Judge James Brady sentenced Boyce to a year in jail with credit for 81 days. Upon release he will serve for 36 months and has to pay a fine. Judge Brady also sentenced Boyce to six months in jail in a separate case where he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of defacing property, admitting to police that he wrote “white pride” and “Patriot Front” on a bathroom stall in a Provo coffee shop. Court records say Boyce told police that “commies” worked and frequented the shop. Boyce was a prominent White supremacist activist before he joined Patriot Front, who says on their website that they protest LGBTQ+ events “to proclaim a stance of decency, morality, and cleanliness to these acts of public depravity.” They have yet to comment on not only Boyce and his case, but also Steven Derrick Tucker, another of the 31 arrestees, who was out on bail at the time of his Coeur D’Alene arrest for allegedly attempting to kill his Hispanic male lover. The current status of Tucker’s case is not known at this time.

Images of child porn were found on Boyce’s phone last year when he was arrested along with 30 other Patriot Front members in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho and charged with attempting to incite a riot when they boarded the back of a rental box truck and attempted to march through a local pride event. He also plead guilty to sending explicit photos of himself to a 16-year-old girl.

A teary-eyed Boyce told Judge Brady that despite all of his actions he is not a monster and just wants the best for his two sons. “I have two amazing boys,” he said. “Ever since I crossed that line, I started taking my sons to church, I stopped watching porn and I was battling my demons and winning. I am not a threat to any child.”

While Brady agreed that he was not a monster, he still “willingly participated in a behavior that makes child abuse prevalent in our society.” It is unclear however why the sentence seems lenient or if Boyce will even have to register as a sex offender.

Considered a fugitive after he failed to show for a court appearance, Boyce’s Couer D’Alene rioting charges are still pending.
