A Proud Boy Catches a Murder Charge

Left, Allen Swindler's mugshot. Right, Allen Swindler marching with Proud Boys in Oregon City, OR on June 18, 2021.

Sooner or later, this was bound to happen. And damnit if it isn’t someone from the Pacific Northwest Proud Boy crew responsible.

A Proud Boy who has had a series of run-ins with law enforcement for much of his life was in jail for assault and other charges when he was charged, along with his girlfriend who was arrested days later, with killing a man and his dog in June. And the murder charges come after a TikTok he posted about the murder victim a day after his body was found.

According to the Oregon State Police, On July 20, 2023, Allen Lloyd Swindler, 36 of Sutherlin, Oregon was arrested on July 20 while Sierra Sioux Jennings, 34 also of Sutherlin was arrested on July 26. Both Swindler and Jennings were charged with the murder of Joshua Alexander, 34 of Roseburg, Oregon, who was found dead with an apparent gunshot wound, near the Interstate 5 milepost 101 interchange, near Canyonville, in Douglas County. News reports note that Swindler has been at the Douglas County Jail since July 10 when he was charged with attempting to elude a police officer, two counts of resisting arrest, felon in possession of body armor, second-degree stalking, harassment, second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, second-degree disorderly conduct, three counts of fourth-degree assault, second-degree criminal trespassing and first-degree failure to appear.

Tina-Desiree Berg reported on the Daily Dot that days before the murder he posted videos either threatening or challenging Alexander. A day after Alexander’s body was found, Swindler posted a video on his TikTok account set to Travis Tritt’s “It’s a Great Day to Be Alive” alongside the acronym “Fuck Around and Find Out.” Other videos followed that seemed to reference Alexander. All of Swindler’s TikTok videos have been deleted.

Berg’s article also notes that Swindler has a criminal history dating back to the mid-2000s when he was convicted of unlawful possession of a firearm, robbery in the third degree, and conspiracy to commit a felony. He served a 90-month sentence in a 2011 case where he threatened a woman who had a restraining order against him by shooting a gun into the air.

In June 2021, Swindler was pictured at a Proud Boy rally in Oregon City, Oregon wearing their usual yellow and black colors and some military gear. That rally ultimately became a brawl but no arrests were reported. Swinder has been seen on now-deleted social media posts boasting about the Proud Boys.

At the time of this posting, little is known about Sierra Sioux Jennings, who is also being held in the Douglas County Jail.
