Almost a dozen persons convicted for their roles on Jan. 6, 2021 who were pardoned by Trump in were have been arrested on charges since. One was killed by police March during a traffic stop after reportedly resisting arrest. It takes a special WTF of a human being to be a participant in the Insurrection, and the latest, the guy who participated wearing a “Camp Auschwitz” T-Shirt is such a WTF human.
Robert Keith Packer, the convicted and eventually pardoned J6er seen in photos from that day wearing a “Camp Auschwitz” hoodie in the U.S. Capitol, was arrested on Sept. 4 on charges stemming from a number of attacks by his dogs three days earlier.
According to ABC News, Packer, 60, was arrested at his home, “following an investigation into an animal-related incident.” He was charged with one count of animal attack resulting from owner’s disregard for human life, a felony, as well as charges of attacking while at large and no city license, both misdemeanors. According to a city spokesperson, he also faces civil charges, including vicious dogs and dogs running in a pack.
Two of Packer’s dogs attacked four individuals, resulting in four people going to the hospital with dog bites. Authorities seized two adult dogs, six 11-week-old puppies, four live rabbits, and one deceased rabbit from Packer’s property. His first court appearance was Sept 12 in Newport News General District Court, and the case was continued to Jan. 7, 2026. Packer also faces a misdemeanor charge from a separate May 19, 2025, incident in which his dogs attacked a woman, Lindy Harper, and her dog during a walk, causing injuries. A hearing for this case is scheduled for Wednesday Sept. 24, 2025.
In 2022 Packer pled guilty to one misdemeanor count of demonstrating inside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 while right wing insurrectionists laid siege to the building, in an effort to prevent the counting of Electoral College votes to formalize the victory of then president-elect Joe Biden.
He was sentenced to 75 days in prison in connection with the Capitol siege. He and the others defendants, often called “J6ers,” were pardoned or saw their sentences commuted by Trump when he returned to the White House earlier this year.
Packer has been described as a habitual criminal offender who has 21 convictions in 25 years, for mostly drunk driving, but also for larceny, drug possession, and forgery. He has been incarcerated for several of those previous offenses in the past.
