Next on the White Power Chopping Block: Three Associates of Patriot Front

They were just posting up flyers, that’s all. But then they had to catch an assault charge on a cop, and…well, this is why we call them boneheads.

EAST BOSTON, MA – Three reputed members of the neo-Fascist group Patriot Front, were arrested after attacking a police officer when he approached them about the flyers they might have been posting in the area.

According to news reports, Matthew Wolf, 26, of Lowell, MA Tylar Larson, 18, of Rochester, NY, and Christopher Hood, 20, of Malden, MA were arrested Friday evening in the Wintrhrop Street area as police investigating a series of racist flyers being posted around the neighborhood promoting Patriot Front. When police saw a group of males wearing face masks, they approached them to talk to them and Wolf became extremely uncooperative. When an officer reached out to obtain his identification card, he slapped the officer’s hand away and was immediately arrested. Larson and Hood were arrested after police found brass knuckles and a knife in their possession. Wolf is charged with assault and battery on a police officer while Larson and Hood are both charged with carrying a dangerous weapon. No charges were filed in regards to the flyers because It was not clear if the three men actually posted the flyers, despite being spotted with flyers in their hands Friday night.

Patriot Front was founded in August 2017 by former Vanguard America members following the bad press the group received following the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, VA where James Fields who was marching with Vanguard America killed Charlottesville resident Heather Heyer as he drove his car in a crowd of protesters. Much of their activity has been simply posting flyers in various regions across the country, but some of their associates have had run ins with law enforcement.

Last year, 19-year-old Jakub Zak was arrested after being found cache of weapons and ammunition after he was seen wearing a Patriot Front T-Shirt at the College of Lake County in Grayslake, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. He pled guilty in August and given 18-months probation.

Another that has been identified as an associate of Patriot Front is William Fears, who along with his brother Colton and their friend Tyler Tenbrink attended the Charlottesville rally, with William being filmed during the melee there shouting “Fire the first shot in the race war, baby!” Tenbrink and the Fears brothers were arrested after shooting at counter protesters just after an appearance in Gainesville by Richard Spencer. As Colton Fears and Tyler Tenbrink currently await sentencing for their role in the shooting, The Florida Attorney’s Office opted not to prosecute William Fears, who was then extradited to his native Texas where he faced charges that he choked his girlfriend days before he left for Gainesville. While out on bail for that charge, he was again arrested in June on a weapons charge.

Christopher Hood has been identified as a reputed leader of Patriot Front in the Boston area and until he was fired last month after antifa alerted his job regarding his activities was working at a local Dick’s Clothing Store. He is a frequent attendee of right wing rallies and events in the area.

Their names are Matt Wolf (Lowell, MA), Tyler Larson (Rochester, NY), and Chris Hood (Malden, MA).

Wolf, Larson, and Hood are expected to be arraigned Tuesday in East Boston District Court.
