Had to happen sooner or later…
HOUSTON, TX – Two individuals wearing masks, body armor marked with “police,” and badges knocked on a door on Houston’s southeast side the night of Friday, April 22 at 11:00 PM, declaring that they were police and serving a warrant.
Then they shot through the door.
Minutes later, the two men lay dead, shot by the homeowner who returned fire.
Neither the homeowner nor the two suspects have been publicly identified, but according to reports, the homeowner did not trust the two men at his door because they did not see a patrol car or flashing lights when they looked outside via their Ring camera. Eventually, the two suspects tried to force their way in and opened fire through the front door, which led to the homeowner shooting back. After the gunplay, arriving officers attempted CPR, but the men were pronounced dead at the scene. No one inside the home, which included a child, were injured.
Since the beginning of Donald Trump’s second term, there has been an uptick of individuals who have been arrested for impersonating immigration agents, particularly since ICE agents have been permitted to wear masks to conceal their identities. Vance Boelter, who is currently being held in custody for a shooting spree in June that targeted Democratic Minnesota legislators, killing one and her husband, allegedly impersonated a masked police officer.
The Houston case is still being investigated.
