A WoLF barking at the door: Anti-trans Bigots start online fund-raisers

One would think that at some point they would see just how fascist they are and stop this crap, but nope. So some folks are working to stop this crap for them and they can use your help.

The trans-exclusionary group Women’s Liberation Front (WoLF) and a number of other so-called “Gender Critical” groups have decided to raise money to create speaking tours for activists who spend much of their time opposing medical care for transgender people. They also work very hard to turn back any accommodations for trans people in their chosen gender stating that the only thing that matters in accommodations is chromosomal biological sex.

The Gender Critical Movement has increasingly been finding common cause with the far right in opposing trans rights. Like the far right they like to create conspiracy theories about how powerful the trans movement is. Like the far right blaming the Illuminati for immigration they have increasingly created theories about how the most powerful corporations and a handful of wealthy people are “funding” the trans movement. Like the white supremacist right who focus on crimes they say were committed by immigrants or people of color many figures in the GC movement try to incite fear of crimes they say were committed by trans individuals. Many of the twitter feeds of these groups and individuals read a lot like the feeds of American Renaissance or Council of Conservative citizens with trans people as the targets of the hatred instead of people of color.

In addition to others, speakers these groups hope to platform include:

• Meghan Murphy, who the editor of the Feminist Current website and podcast and a TERF responsible for much of the transphobia in the US, Canada and UK. She contributes to the fascist-friendly website Quillette as well.
• Posie Parker who did a sympathetic interview with white nationalist Jean-François Gariépy.
• Lierre Keith from the anti-trans group Deep Green Resistance.

Over the past week, a trans-exclusionary group in the UK lost their funding platforms after complaints of abuse and harassment. We are strongly suggesting that people contact fundrazr.com and gofundme.com to report these fund-raisers to tell them where they are in violation of the company terms of service.

Fundrazr does not permit hate groups based on gender identity on their platform. Be sure to mention this as a reason when reporting this fund-raiser which as of this writing has raised over 3000 dollars.
