ANNAPOLIS, MD – A White man is in custody after police allege he opened fire at the offices of the Capital Gazette newspaper. At the time of this posting, five are dead and seven are injured.
According to the Baltimore Sun, which owns the Capital Gazette, at approximately 3:15 PM Thursday, gunman shot through a glass door to the office and opened fire on multiple employees. Police were able to capture the suspect when they found them hiding under a desk in the newsroom. The suspect, who police say is 39 with a criminal history of vandalism and harassment, had no identification on his person, will not comply with police and has mutilated his fingers seemingly to avoid identification through fingerprints.
At least one victim was being treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center while others were being treated at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
While no motive has been announced, many have expressed concerns that the shooting might be politically motivated Radio talk show host and Fox News personality Sean Hannity immediately blamed Congresswoman Maxine Waters because of her remarks at a rally where she called upon supporters to confront workers in the Trump administration for its attempt to separate children from the parents of undocumented workers.
Sean Hannity has already blamed Maxine Waters for the shooting in Maryland:

Still others have focused on neo-Fascist Milo Yiannopoulos, who just two days ago texted to reporters who asked him to comment on a story, “I can’t wait for the vigilante squads to start gunning journalists down on sight.” That comment has been the subject of discussion in the days prior to today’s shooting, and in the wake of the tragic event many on social media have suggested the possibility that the suspect responded to his call. There has been no evidence confirming the assertions of either camp.
