So, Matt Parrott caught Matthew Heimbach in an affair with his wife, gets choked out by Heimbach – twice – then Heimbach attacks his own wife who is Parrott’s stepdaughter while their children – and police – are present. Anything we miss?
The website for the Traditionalist Worker Party (TWP) as well as much of the organization’s online presence has been removed following the resignation of group founder David “Matt” Parrott, Jr. and the arrest of TWP leader Matthew Heimbach after he allegedly assaulted Parrott during a fight stemming from accusations that he was having sexual relations with his wife, and assaulting his own wife reportedly in front of police who responded to the incident.
According to legal documents and news sources, Matt Parrott learned last week that Heimbach was having an affair over the past three months with Parrott’s wife Jessica, and after setting up a situation at approximately 1 am today that caught Heimbach at the TWP compound in Paoli, Indiana attempting to continue the affair, Parrott confronted him. An altercation ensued, with Heimbach and Jessica allegedly assaulting Parrott, Heimbach also allegedly choking him unconscious.
When Parrott came to, he ran to a house on the compound, and Heimbach pursued him, allegedly choking him unconscious for a second time. Parrott woke up to hear Heimbach and talking about finding Heimbach’s wife, who is also Parrott’s stepdaughter. Parrot fled the compound with his 4-month-old child to a nearby Wal-Mart and told police he met there that his stepdaughter was in danger because she had a recording of his wife and Heimbach.
When police arrived at the compound, Heimbach, his wife and children and Jessica Parrott were there. Jessica was allowed to leave and after some conversation with police, Heimbach demanded to his wife that she ask the police to leave and say that everything was fine. When police heard yelling and scuffling from inside the trailer, they went in and stopped Heimbach from assaulting his wife further. He was then taken to the Orange County Jail and was charged with battery, battery committed in the presence of a child younger than 16, intimidation and strangulation. Heimbach is currently free on $1000 bond.
Parrott later told the Southern Poverty Law Center that he was officially resigning from the TWP. “I’m done. I’m out,” he said. “SPLC has won. Matt Parrott is out of the game. Y’all have a nice life.” As of the posting of this article, a YouTube channel seems to be the only official online presence of the TWP.
Founded in 2013, the Traditionalist Worker Party was the latest and most enduring of all the organizations Heimbach and Parrott formed. Heimbach at that point was a prominent figure in the media as he attempted to put a kindly face on Nazism, while at the same time courting some of the more darker and reckless figures within White Power circles. In 2016, the TWP joined forces with the National Socialist Movement to found the Nationalist Front, a coalition of White nationalist, neo-Confederate, neo-Nazi and Klan groups from around the country. The Nationalist Front proved to be a particularly violent group and was responsible for instigating much of the violence at the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia on Aug. 12.
Heimbach himself has been particularly prone to violence and has boasted about it often, most notably when he attacked a black female college student during a 2016 rally for Donald Trump in Louisville, Kentucky. In July, he pleaded guilty in that case to second-degree disorderly conduct, and in addition to being fined $145 fine and sentenced to 90 days of jail time, District Court Judge Stephanie Pearce Burke waved that jail time on the condition he not re-offend within two years. It has not yet been said if today’s arrest will impact on that stipulation.
The Traditionalist Worker Party was present last week in Michigan during Richard Spencer’s sparely attended speech at Michigan State University, and boasted about fighting Antifa there.
