PORTLAND, OR – One week after police officers shot and killed 27-year-old Patrick K. Kimmons<\/a>, a driver plowed through a crowd of hundreds who were protesting the use of deadly force.<\/p>\n

According to KATU News, a\u00a0driver in a silver Lexus sedan when he drove into the crowd Saturday, striking a man and then accelerating down the street. The driver, later told the station that\u00a0he was following two other cars that made a right-hand turn when one protester stepped in front of his car and others surrounded it. He told police\u00a0his vehicle sustained $3,000 in damages during the incident<\/a>. Some that were on the scene however told Idavox that he drove through the crowd as folks were trying to avoid traffic, and that he drove at least half a block with someone on the hood, then briefly stopped to get out and attempt to fight protester for photographing him.<\/p>\n

Police say they are withholding the emergency call recordings pending an investigation. To date, no arrests have been made.<\/p>\n
