A New Hampshire blog has posted information about the Donald Trump supporters that CNN interviewed last week, many of them past and present elected officials.<\/p>\n
Most of the supporters have had some notoriety in the past and some have even appeared on CNN in recent months. Of all of them New Hampshire State Representative Susan DeLemus has been the one receiving most of the attention because she accused persons in power, particularly President Obama, of lying, while also making the unclear remark that either she or Trump had never been involved in politics until now, when neither is true. In 1999 Trump sought the Reform Party nomination for president.<\/p>\n
Her husband Jerry DeLemus is also profiled as a militia supporter who participated in the standoff at the ranch of tax cheat Cliven Bundy, and the host of a since canceled \u201cDraw Muhammad\u201d contest in New Hampshire.<\/p>\n
From miscellany: blue<\/a>:<\/p>\n Josh Youssef<\/strong><\/p>\n Josh Youssef<\/a>, a former state Senate candidate who serves as Trump\u2019s Belknap County chair, has a long history of provocative remarks and controversial conduct.<\/p>\n \u201cIslam is a Satan-inspired and FALSE religion<\/a>,\u201d he once wrote on Facebook. \u201c\u2018Tolerance\u2019 is what got America into this most precarious situation. It\u2019s time for a little bit of intolerance, and a whole lot of political incorrectness. \u2026 They can feel free to believe in Allah, the fake God, the \u2018god\u2019 of death, destruction, polygamy, and all things anti-christ\u2026and I\u2019ll be tolerant of that,\u201d Youssef added. \u201cBut I demand they be tolerant of my right to ridicule it!\u201d<\/p>\n Court documents from Youssef\u2019s divorce revealed that he failed to file federal income tax returns between 2004 and 2008 and owed $60,000 to the IRS. The Concord Monitor reported<\/a> the divorce judge ruled Youssef had under-reported his income in order to reduce his child support obligation and ordered him to pay additional support to make up for the under-reported income.<\/p>\n In 2013, the state Attorney General\u2019s Office ruled<\/a> Youssef violated the state\u2019s election law when he published a deceptive and misleading website during his unsuccessful senate campaign. That campaign featured a candidate debate in which Yousef was quoted saying that while he believes domestic abusers should be held accountable, the victims \u201cneed to be educated<\/a> so they stop returning to a violent \u2018lifestyle.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n William Baer<\/b><\/p>\n William Baer<\/a> earned his 15 minutes of fame when he was arrested<\/a> for disrupting a school board meeting in Gilford. (The charges were eventually dropped.) Baer attended the meeting, accompanied by videographer Joshua Youssef, to confront the board members over his daughter\u2019s English class reading assignment that he believed was pornographic.<\/p>\n (The book, \u201cNineteen Minutes\u201d by New Hampshire author Jodi Picoult, tells the story of a bullied teenager\u2019s high school shooting rampage. It has been on the school\u2019s class reading list since it debuted on the New York Times Best Seller list in 2007.)<\/p>\n Before Baer moved to New Hampshire, he was videotaped<\/a> in a congressional town hall meeting confronting New Jersey Congressman Scott Garrett over Pres. Obama\u2019s birth certificate. \u201cI\u2019m concerned that the rule of law and the Constitution is basically going to be irrelevant if this issue is not resolved,\u201d he told Garrett.<\/p>\n John Hikel<\/b><\/p>\n John Hikel<\/a>, a three-term former state representative from Goffstown, ended an exploratory campaign for the state senate in 2012 after a controversy in which he accused<\/a> former state GOP Vice Chair Pam Manney of being an ex-stripper and \u201cpole dancer.\u201d<\/p>\n The next year, Hikel filed formal criminal complaints<\/a> against 189 lawmakers who voted for legislation that would have repealed the state\u2019s \u201cstand your ground\u201d law. The complaint, filed with Hillsborough County Sheriff James Hardy, claimed the lawmakers violated their oaths of office and conspired to deprive Hikel of his constitutional rights. A separate House petition sought to have the lawmakers removed from the legislature.<\/p>\n And then there was Hikel\u2019s jarring 2014 speech<\/a>, delivered on the floor of the House, in which he drew on the bizarre ideology of the sovereign citizens movement to support fetal homicide legislation. \u201cI don\u2019t think this is about abortion. I don\u2019t think this is about fetal homicide\u2026\u201d he said. \u201cI think this is a nine month free card for those fetuses, where they don\u2019t have a lien put upon their Social Security number at that time.\u201d<\/p>\n Jerry DeLemus<\/b><\/p>\n Jerry DeLemus<\/a>, co-chair of the NH Veterans for Trump coalition, describes the president as a \u201cMuslim radical\u201d intent on destroying the country. \u201cObama is leading a revolution in our country without a shot being fired. This is what the communists promised us,\u201d DeLemus wrote on Facebook. \u201cI do however feel Obama is a Muslim radical<\/a> bent on collapsing our country. We are nearly finished with the help of the Republicans.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier this year, DeLemus announced<\/a> plans to hold a \u201cDraw Muhammad\u201d contest in New Hampshire, emulating a similar event promoted by anti-Muslim activist Pamela Geller in Texas that ended in the shooting deaths of two gunmen. (Even Trump thought that was a bad idea<\/a>. \u201cIt really looks like she\u2019s just taunting everybody,\u201d he said on Fox and Friends. \u201cWhat is she doing drawing Muhammad?\u201d)<\/p>\n \u201cI am planning this to push back against those that are trying to impose Sharia and or believe that it is justified to kill those that don\u2019t accept their beliefs,\u201d DeLemus explained. \u201cI love Pamela Geller,\u201d he added, \u201cshe is honest and courageous.\u201d<\/p>\n Before that, DeLemus grabbed his Gadsden flag and raced to Bunkerville, Nevada to support cattle rancher Cliven Bundy in his confrontation with federal officials. When he arrived, the former Marine sergeant was appointed commander of the armed militia.<\/a><\/p>\n Susan DeLemus<\/b><\/p>\n State Rep. Susan DeLemus<\/a> made national headlines when she disrupted a meeting of the state Ballot Law Commission, which had ruled against an attempt by Orly Taitz to keep Pres. Obama off the ballot in the 2012 New Hampshire presidential primary.<\/p>\n The Union Leader reported<\/a> DeLemus and former Rep. Henry Accornero were so aggressive that Assistant Attorney General Matt Mavrogeorge feared for his safety and retreated to a locked office where he called security.<\/p>\n Delemus recently accused<\/a> the president of committing treason for authorizing a prisoner exchange to free Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. \u201cOur entire federal government is completely lawless!!!\u201d she wrote on Facebook. \u201cNone of them can be trusted and should be considered FEDERAL TERRORISTS!!! The fact that Impeachment and recalls are not on the table right now screams and reeks of corruption.\u201d<\/p>\n This passionate rant from DeLemus received extensive coverage on media sites around the web today. \u201dThis Is the Face of Trump\u2019s Insane Supporters,\u201d Jezebel reported.<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n One that wasn’t mentioned was Paula Yoel Johnson, a former Democratic New Hampshire State Representative from Nashua, NH where she was also an alderman. She is a co-Chair of the Women for Trump Coalition and in\u00a0 September she appeared on CNN to defend Trump after someone during a rally Q&A in Rochester, NH where after someone declared that President Obama was a Muslim<\/a>, and asked how can the country be rid of Muslims, not only did Trump not correct him about Obama\u2019s religion, but said in response to the second part of his question, \u201cWe`re going to be looking at a lot of different things.\u201d Johnson\u2019s response to that was to blame the media for making a big deal about it. \u201cI think it was an awkward question,\u201d she said, \u201cbut I don\u2019t feel \u2014 and this is just my feeling \u2014 that it was a wrong question and expect\u00a0that you\u2019re going to be upset with Mr. Trump if he answered it, and you\u2019re upset with him because he gave an answer, saying we\u2019re going to look into this. So you know, if he gives the wrong answer, or the right answer \u2013I guess there\u2019s no right answer or wrong answer with Mr. Trump.\u201d She continued on with her rant for a few more minutes because CNN cut her mic to go to commercial (as she still ranted). Later she was on MSNBC\u2019s All In with Chris Hayes<\/a>, and when he asked if it would have been okay if the questioner asked a similar question about Jews, saying, \u201cI`m Jewish.
