The video went viral on&nbsp;social media, as supporters condemned the actions of Shiloh Hendrix. Days later, Hendrix launched a GoFundMe and claimed that her&nbsp;and her family\u2019s safety were at risk after her personal information, address, and Social Security number were leaked.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox9.com\/news\/woman-accused-racist-playground-slur-rochester-begins-trial-july-2026.amp\">According to local media sources<\/a>, she raised $800,000 as of February this year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/publicaccess.courts.state.mn.us\/CaseSearch\">criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County<\/a>, the incident happened in April of last year at Soldier\u2019s Field Park. The complaint states that the 8-year-old Black child, who was \u201cprofoundly and visibly autistic,\u201d wandered off and took an applesauce pouch from a diaper bag that belonged to Hendrix.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hendrix proceeded to chase the child&nbsp;and called him the \u201cN-word.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The child\u2019s father filmed the rest of the encounter and confronted Hendrix about why she used racist language against a Black child&nbsp;with autism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSo that gives you the right to call the child, eight-years-old, a n*****, the \u2018N-word?\u2019\u201d the father asked in the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hendrix replied by saying, \u201cIf that\u2019s what he\u2019s gonna act like.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Immediately after the video went viral on social media, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.naacprochestermn.org\/s\/05-1-25-Press-Release-Racist-Hate-Incident-Targeting-Black-Child-in-Public-Park-Rochester-Branch-NAA.pdf\">Rochester Branch of the NAACP issued<\/a>&nbsp;a&nbsp;statement. \u201cThis is a very serious situation, and we are treating it as such,\u201d said Wal\u00e9 Elegbede, president of the NAACP\u2019s Rochester Branch, in a statement. \u201cA public park should be a place of joy and safety. What we witnessed in that video was vile, hate speech, dehumanizing, and racist. Since the incident surfaced, I\u2019ve corresponded and spoken with legal representatives from our local branch, our regional NAACP Minnesota and Dakotas Area State Conference, and the National NAACP to determine appropriate next steps. Our children are sacred\u2014and our community demands accountability.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hendrix is being charged with two counts of disorderly conduct. Jury selection for the trial began this week.
