Hundreds of community members showed up in protest and many were met with chemical weapons deployed by federal agents, including one person who was&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Dymanh\/status\/2008953959160127509\">shot directly in the face<\/a>. She was later identified as Renee Nicole Good, 37.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><em><strong>Content Advisory<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Footage of police killing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">A vigil was organized for 5 p.m. on Wednesday night at 34th and Portland Ave. Unicorn Riot is on site at the vigil tonight but cell phone network constraints have prevented media uploads. In the video, a maroon SUV is seen maneuvering in the street before two ICE agents get out of a truck and yell at the driver of the SUV to \u201cget out of the fucking car\u201d while one appears to attempt to open the door. Walz mentioned a Minnesota State Patrol mobile response team, and that the state Emergency Operations Center is activated (typically known as an EOC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><strong>\u201cI\u2019ve issued a warning order to prepare the Minnesota National Guard. We have soldiers in training and prepared to be deployed if necessary. I remind you a warning order is a heads up for folks and these national guard troops are&nbsp;<em>our<\/em>&nbsp;National Guard troops. [\u2026] They\u2019re teachers in your community, they\u2019re business owners, they<\/strong>\u2018<strong>re construction professionals, they are Minnesotans<\/strong>. [\u2026]&nbsp;<strong>It so happens [to be] a training weekend, we\u2019ve got about 7500 troops at our sites, training sites, across the state. what it is in the National Guard is a warning order you give a heads up of something could be coming [\u2026] Since the summer of 2020 we had a lot of work done on teams being ready to make sure that civil unrest\u2026\u201d<\/strong>Tim Walz press statement, 1\/7\/2026<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Walz warned that the White House might try to declare martial law: \u201cDo not take the bait. do not them allow them to deploy federal troops into here. do not allow them to invoke the Insurrection Act. Do not allow them to declare martial law. Do not allow them to lie about the security and the decency of this state and let\u2019s let this investigation play itself out\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Around that time in the afternoon a group of protesters marched to the federal courthouse in downtown Minneapolis and then headed back towards the site of the shooting. (The end of a Mercado Media stream&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6f2uyGkcRco\">showed the gathering at the courthouse<\/a>.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">According to the website The Trace, there have been at least&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrace.org\/2025\/12\/immigration-ice-shootings-guns-tracker\/\">14 shootings by ICE during the Trump Administration\u2019s ongoing crackdown<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Good\u2019s mother, Donna Ganger,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.startribune.com\/she-was-an-amazing-human-being-mother-identifies-woman-shot-killed-by-ice-agent\/601559922\">told the Star Tribune<\/a>&nbsp;that Good was \u201can amazing human being.\u201d According to this report Good and the late Timmy Ray Macklin Jr., who passed away in 2003, had a child. Timmy Ray Macklin Sr. said he was heading to Minnesota \u201cto come and get my grandchild\u201d who has now lost both parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Good previously went by Ren\u00e9e Nicole Macklin, and was listed as a poet in a biographic profile. In 2020 Good was \u201can undergraduate in the English Department at Old Dominion University in Virginia. In 2020 she made Spring Dean\u2019s List and was the winner of the 2020 Academy of American Poets, University &amp; College Poetry Prize\u201d at Old Dominion, according to a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.porkopolis.org\/pig_poet\/renee-nicole-macklin\/\">website<\/a>&nbsp;that collected writing about pigs including an award-winning poem of hers (<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JSweetLI\/status\/2009054925188215129\">source<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><em>This story was updated during the events of
