This is the chapter of the Proud Boys who went to a Woodbridge, NJ Town Council last month – even though they were apparently not even from there – and cried about being treated badly. They ain’t seen nothing yet!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

When a Proud Boy chapter based traveled to Woodbridge, NJ to address the Town Council meeting<\/a> there last month one of them solely identified as \u201cBert\u201d read a statement indicating that they were simply \u201cmen in this community with children in the school system\u201d that were also \u201ctired of being accused of White supremacy and racism\u201d. The chapter however has a Telegram account that not only indicates they are from South Jersey, but has recently made an anti-Semitic post regarding comedian Jon Stewart\u2019s concerns over anti-Semitic imagery in a Harry Potter character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stewart, the former host of The Daily Show, who is Jewish, noted<\/a> on the Dec. 16 episode of his podcast The Problem with Jon Stewart that author J.K. Rowling\u2019s goblins that run the Gringotts bank were similar to caricatures of Jews from The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, an infamous anti-Semitic text that purports to show a Jewish plan for world domination. \u201cHere’s how you know Jews are still where they are,\u201d he said. \u201cI just want to show you a caricature. And they’re like, \u2018Oh, look at that, that’s from Harry Potter!\u2019 And you’re like, \u2018No, that’s a caricature of a Jew from an anti-Semitic piece of literature.\u2019 J.K. Rowling was like, \u2018Can we get these guys to run our bank?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was one of those things where I saw it on the screen and I was expecting the crowd to be like \u2018holy shit, she did not in a wizarding world just throw Jews in there to run the fucking underground bank.\u2019 And everyone was like, \u2018Wizards,\u2019\u201d Stewart also said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stewart has since denied<\/a> that he was accusing J.K. Rowling of antisemitism, the author also currently under scrutiny for her attacks on the transgender community.<\/a> Regardless, the Proud Boys NJ Coalition Telegram account, did a repost on Jan. 4 of a posting from account called \u201cZoomerWaffen\u201d that featured a screenshot of Stewart\u2019s podcast with the goblins in an inset and a caption that read, \u201cAmazing how they look at goblins and immediately recognize their race.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Proud Boy chapter that runs this Telegram account is the same one that traveled all the way up from South Jersey to Woodbridge, NJ to read a statement to the town council meeting last month about how nice and totally not bigoted they are.
