Proud Boy Extradited to Portland from Washington State to Face Further Charges

Even with how hard the law is coming for Tiny Toese, it remains to be seen how long they are going to stay with that energy considering they didn’t really have it in the past.

Proud Boy Tusitala “Tiny” Toese was sitting in the Thurston County Jail in Olympia, Washington since Jan. 5 where he is facing second-degree criminal trespassing and third-degree assault charges after leading protesters onto the grounds of the Washington State Governor’s Mansion in Olympia almost a year earlier on Jan. 6, 2021, attacking police along the way. On Tuesday however, he was extradited to the Multnomah County Detention Center in Portland, Oregon where he is being held without bail on charges that he assaulted a man and incited others to clash with antifa on Aug. 23 in the midst of a rally in the parking lot of an abandoned Kmart.

On Wednesday, Toese, 25, was arraigned on 11 counts, including rioting, second- and third-degree assault, unlawful use of weapon and first-degree criminal mischief. A secret indictment originally named Toese, his co-defendant Miles Furrow, 41, and Justin Michael Glidden, 36, for their role in the brawl, but prosecutors dropped charges against Glidden leaving Toese and Furrow facing charges.

When Toese was arrested in January, it was first reported that it stemmed from the charges that even he expected from the Aug. 23 brawl, but it was later learned that he was also facing the charges stemming from storming the Governor’s Mansion last year. Toese, known for instigating violent actions on behalf of groups such as the Proud Boys and the neo-fascist Patriot Prayer, also had a history of not being pursued for many of those incidents, including one in Seattle where he and three others attacked a man, stole his cellphone and fled in a minivan with no license plates.

In September, Toese was shot while trying to engage antifa in yet another attack as they were leaving a protest area. Benjamin Varela , who is out on bail is currently facing first degree assault charges. An article for the conservative New York Post about the incident was written by neo-fascist propagandist Andy Ngô, a regular associate of Patriot Prayer and the Proud Boys, indicating a possible attempt by the right to campaign for a conviction against Varela. A bar in Woodland, WA is even hosting a fundraiser for Toese on Saturday.
