Roma Resistance and Dignity is Not for Sale!

Observing Roma Resistance Day and 500 years of that resistance against oppression this weekend.

To whom it may concern

Dear Sir/Madam,

The 16th of May is Roma Resistance day.

The Roma Political Autonomous Organisations are announcing an action for solidarity with Roma ancestors and all people who resisted to any kind of violence, agression and homocides.

Roma people around Europe, and around world never ever caused or led a war. Unfortunately, as citizens of different states, they were victims of war, and above all war crimes and genocide. To remind you on the Roma victims during II World war, but as well during the communism in many communist countries at that time, and as well in the last Balkan tragedy, Roma were victims and prognani from Kosovo. Up to now those victims are not internationally acknowledged.

Therefore, as people who are suffering because of hundred years discrimination, racism, hate, social exclusion and based on that hate murders Roma people are proudly giving support to all resistance toward any kind of agression.

We are inviting whole Roma community Europewide not to do any tax payment on the 15th and 16th of May actually any payment/any shopping, apart from some urgent need.

Roma people are solidarly expressing their resistance to all states by this action, as the discrimination of Roma „antigypsism“ is deeply integrated in states’s institutions and systems. Therefore, we refuse to support states by tax payments who are institutionally discriminating Roma people.

2025 is a milestone year and we want to give a huge THANK YOU to all of our supporters who have been in the trenches with us for the past 25 years. A lot of groups and people we have dealt with since we started are long gone: Richard Barrett, Matt Hale, the Minutemen and others!
