Leo Stratton, ROT IN HELL!

Leo Stratton, left, and the truck he burned up in.

The Leni Riefenstahl of the Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer out of the Northwest got a taste of his future this evening by burning up in his truck on the highway.

WASCO COUNTY, OR – a fiery truck accident on Interstate 84 has claimed the life of Leo Stratton, 50, a writer for the neo-fascist blog Red Elephants who was best known as a cheerleader of the Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer, two violent hate groups in the Northwest that have held regular rallies in the Portland area over the past year, a number of them resulting in violence.

According to news reports, Stratton’s commercial truck was eastbound in the slow lane when it drifted off the roadway, hit a rock embankment and caught fire. Stratton died as a result of his injuries.

With the tagline “We Are Spreading Conservative Truth For The Greater Good,” The Red Elephants has been a go-to resource for neo-fascist positions online. Stratton, who has been posting there since June 2017, covered Portland for them, writing articles and producing videos that cover politics there often from a perspective painting fascists and the right as victims of society and the people who oppose them. His first article on Red Elephants was titled “YouTube Is A Biased Media Monopoly” where he complained that the popular video platform removed one of his videos that they determined went against their Community Guidelines. Despite that, Stratton’s YouTube channel, which has been online for four years, has hundreds of videos and over 10,000 subscribers.

According to Rose City Antifa, Stratton has attempted to doxx and harass local left-wing activists, and this often includes threats of violence against antifascists. Ironically, one of his Red Elephant articles was him complaining about being attacked by antifa when he was separated from the neo-Fascist group marching in Portland during a Sept. 2017 rally. “The Protesters .. seeing me alone, were emboldened, they started chanting my name, throwing objects at me, and yelling threats, a well aimed bagel came flying from behind me, knocking my camera out of my hands,: he wrote. “I retrieved it and a masked person began kicking me and hitting me, I walked over near the riot Police and they pushed me away, from behind me another masked person threw a punch, connecting with my bicep, luckily i (sic) had my camera, damaged from the fall, in my other hand.”

According to one tweet, Stratton was a committeperson for the Multnomah County Republican Party, who cheered on the heavy-handed tactics of the Portland Police Bureau during the Aug. 4 rally held by Patriot Prayer and the Proud Boys.

Upon news of Stratton’s death, some took to Twitter to celebrate.

On June 30, Stratton’s first wife Tammy Hicks was found dead in a burning trailer. Her estranged husband Kevin Hicks is charged with her murder.
