HACKENSACK, NJ – Jacques Pluss, the former college professor and National Socialist Movement member who was arrested last year on weapons charges and charges that he threatened Anti-Defamation League head Abe Foxman, pled to lesser charges on July 27 in Bergen County Superior Court and will serve three years probation.

“He received no incarceration time. Other penalties were rather mild,” an email sent to One People’s Project from a person calling themselves “Jacques” wrote, making reference to the “White Power Chopping Block” tag whenever white supremacists are arrested. “It hardly seems that he is on any ‘chopping block.’  Nor has he disavowed his continuing work for National Socialist causes. He is not prohibited by any court order from engaging in them.

Pluss, 58, was arrested January 2011 by detectives from the State Police Cyber-Crimes Unit, the State Police canine unit and the Ridgewood, NJ police who went to Pluss’ apartment in early morning with a search warrant after receiving information about “threatening emails” towards Abe Foxman. During the search, the police seized several rifles from his apartment which we was barred by a court order from possessing.

Puss is a former adjunct history professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ. He was there from 2002 to 2005, when the university fired him citing numerous absences. According to another email from Pluss to One People’s Project, he had been working as a psychoanalyst in Paramus, NJ until April 2012.

Pluss also told One People’s Project that he was unaware of having to undergo sensitivity training as a part of his probation, although he will see, “a counsellor of some kind.” Should the state require him to work with a Jewish-based program as well, he says he will be okay with that.

“Did you folks know that I lived and worked in Israel for almost a year back in 1975-76, and had many different friends there, some Jewish, some Moslem, and some Christian,” Pluss wrote. “Israel is a beautiful country — at least it was all those years ago. And I would, naturally, have never mentioned my National Socialist leanings when I was there. Nor was I ever interested in hurting a fly.

“Obviously, I never considered becoming a Jew, but then, again, there’s a far cry from an Israeli who is Jewish and an American Jew,” he continued. “(M)any Israeli Jews scoff at the monied silliness of American Jews.”
