Hey, it’s one thing if they quote Hitler on their newsletter, but openly hyping up Fash beyond that? Yeah, we had to ask.
A Telegram account promoting White Supremacist propaganda under the name of the group Moms for Liberty is not officially sanctioned by the group, according to their co-founder who responded to Idavox’s requests for clarification.
“Moms for Liberty does not have a Telegram account,” Tina Descovich wrote in an email. “The link you have shared is not authorized by our organization. Thank you for checking.”
The link in question was a Telegram account under the Moms for Liberty name that was created June 2021 and promotes not just that organization but the neo-fascist groups Patriot Front and the National Justice Party. It’s first post on October 10 of that year linked to the Mom’s for Liberty website for readers to find their local chapter, the message reading, “Join the crusade against anti-White ‘critical race theory’ and homosexual propaganda abusing our children in this nation.”
In the months leading up to the organization’s Philadelphia conference, a lot of attention has been given to Moms for Liberty, mostly due to its repeated penchant for associating with far right and racist right elements. Just a week prior to their conference, one of their chapters used a quote from Adolf Hitler, sparking even more of the controversy that the week prior landed them on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s extremism list. Meanwhile, the Telegram account has received attention on social media outlets. One news outlet, while noting the social media accounts of Moms for Liberty, even noted a Telegram account that might belong to them, but did not confirm.
There are also Telegram accounts that claim to represent various Moms for Liberty chapters across the country.
