Next on the White Power Chopping Block: Nicholas G. Mucci

This is the guy they arrested for attacking the Jan. 27th show that benefitted us! And they nabbed him after he attended a fash rally in his hometown!

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Just after he participated in a white supremacist rally in town on Saturday, a 28-year-old man was arrested on charges stemming from reportedly throwing smoke bombs and attempting to pepper spray the crowd leaving a show in Asbury Park, NJ on Jan. 27 benefitting One People’s Project.

Nicholas G. Mucci, who lives in Toms River, was part of the rally that along with the New Jersey chapter of White Lives Matter also included members of the NJ European Heritage Association, Garden State Nationalist Club, Embrace Struggle Active Club, and National Socialist Youth Detachment. It was held alongside the Toms River Irish Festival whose participants heckled and jeered them while they stood on adjacent sidewalks.

According to a press release from the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, Mucci is charged with second-degree charges of risking widespread injury or damage and possession of a weapon as well as third-degree offenses including arson, aggravated assault and terroristic threats. He was arrested by investigators from the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (NJOHSP), detectives from the Division of Criminal Justice and troopers from the New Jersey State Police The Federal Bureau of Investigations also assisted in the arrest. Mucci made his first appearance in court on Monday where the Judge said he will remain  at the Monmouth County Jail pending a detention hearing. The State of New Jersey is a no bail state.

Authorities say it was Mucci who traveled to the show at Trinity Episcopal Parish in Asbury Park, NJ where Pain of Truth, End It, Restraining Order, Threat 2 Society and Hold My Own were performing and first drove up and blocked the crowd standing outside of the sold out show from leaving. He then began to throw smoke bombs while shouting “WLM!” which stands for White Lives Matter, one of the organizations that helped initiate the violence at the tragic 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, VA that resulted in the death of 34-year-old Heather Heyer who was protesting against that rally.

An hour after the first attack, Mucci allegedly came back and attempted to pepper spray the crowd as they were leaving the church although no injuries were reported. It was later learned that a Pride flag that flew from the church building was ripped down sometime that night.

An investigation into the incident determined that a license plate reader installed in the area identified a vehicle matching the description of a car known to be operated by Mucci as having been present when the incident occurred, according to authorities. Investigators were able to obtain Mucci’s cell phone records and it showed that the phone had been turned off within the timeframe of the incident, a tactic  Mucci himself would refer to as “going dark” when engaging in white supremacist activities, according to police records. Physical evidence recovered at the scene determined that the smoke bombs were Sky King Brand Fireworks, which indicated they were purchased from the Sky King in Morrisville, PA, which is just across the Delaware River from Trenton, NJ. Further investigation revealed that Mucci allegedly purchased similar smoke bombs from the same store on October 23, 2022 and provided his old North Carolina driver’s license in order to make the purchase.

The show, that was produced by the Asbury Park-based Light Brigade Collective, was never disrupted and went on despite the assailant’s efforts.
