Next on the Capitol Siege Chopping Block: Mark Sahady & Sue Ianni

That U.S. Capitol insurrection is helping to take a lot – and we mean a LOT of persistent scumbags off the playing field. These two had it coming for a long time!

Boston-area neo-fascist Mark Sahady, will spend the rest of Donald Trump’s presidency behind bars as the Vice-President of Super Happy Fun America (SHFA) was arrested for entering the U.S. Capitol during the January 6 insurrection, along with local politician and SHFA organizer Suzanne Ianni, who was also arrested and charged for her role.

Sahady and Ianni were arrested by the FBI on Tuesday and had their first court appearances via Zoom conference later that day. Both were charged with knowingly and entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. Photos showed the two both inside and outside the Capitol on Jan. 6.

Sahady has organized rallies in the Boston area for an organization that was formerly named Boston Free Speech and was once a chapter of Resist Marxism. Their events have brought out neo-fascists from groups like the Proud Boys, American Guard and the Nationalist Social Club. Sahady helped organize the rally in Boston’s Copley Square last October that saw the group hiding behind barricades and outnumbered by protesters.

Ianni, who has courted controversy in 2013 when she attacked Trayvon Martin online, is a Natick, MA town meeting member – Town Meeting is an elected body that votes on town affairs – who says she is one of the directors of SHFA, which she told a news outlet was “a civil-rights organization that peacefully protests the leftist cabal taking over this country.” She helped organize the buses that brought supporters down from Boston, although she noted in that one person did not make it back with them and she is not sure what might have happened to him.

There is an online petition launched by Natick residents to remove her from office, but the Natick town moderator said Natick does not have a provision in place to remove an elected official from office except to not reelect them, so the town is looking to change its charter. Ianni’s three-year term ends March 2022.

Chief Magistrate Judge Jennifer Boal released Ianni on her own recognizance on the condition that she remain in the state except to attend a court hearing in Washington, D.C. next week. She is also barred from going to any organized protest, rally or demonstration without prior permission from court officials. Ianni is also barred from going near the Massachusetts statehouse given the heightened concerns stemming from recent activities.

Sahady however remains in custody after U.S. Assistant Attorney William Bloomer, who approved of Ianni’s release said he posed “a serious risk of obstructing justice if released,” noting how the 46-year-old instructed his mother not to turn over his cellphone or to let anyone into his room or to go into his room herself. His detention hearing is scheduled for Thursday at 2PM.

The FBI has arrested more than 100 persons in connection with the Capitol siege, and officials are looking at “significant felony cases” tied to sedition and conspiracy, according to U.S. Attorney Michael Sherwin.
