Just a handful showed up this time, but c’mon. Is it really this easy to freak these idiots out?
GETTYSBURG, PA – Three years ago, the last time militia groups came out to take on a supposed antifa threat at the famous battlefield here, the only casualty was one of their number who ended up shooting himself in the leg. The fact that such groups were duped by a rumor on Twitter to come out in the first place should have been a teachable moment for them, but a few weeks ago, such rumors had them once again mobilizing to go to the park – and once again it made them look stupid.
According to news reports dozens of militia groups and neo-Nazis converged on the historical battlefield, spurred on by a Facebook post by a group calling itself “Left Behind USA” that said they were holding an event where attendees would “burn flags in protest of thugs and animals in blue”, with organizers saying they would “be giving away free small flags to children to safely throw into the fire”, the flags to include American, Confederate and Blue Lives Matter flags. In the end no antifa showed up, and it was unlikely any planned to, and the milita groups were made fools of a second time.
