Not Amused: Coney Island Sales Coordinator Threatens Black Lives Matter Protest on Twitter

Anthony Grina in 2012 photobombs then-Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum with a bumper sticker for the candidate he actually supported.

Anthony Grina has since made his Twitter page private, but not before we saved his best gems for everyone to see!

NEW YORK, NY – A protest at City Hall Park calling for the defunding of the New York Police Department has had its share of detractors, but one in particular has been openly calling on Twitter for them to be, in his words, “physically removed from society”, even advocating for gas chambers and opining that should the protesters get their wish right wingers would “burn your housing projects down and #MakeAmericaGreatAgain”, recalling the slogan for the Donald Trump presidential campaign.

It turns out the Twitter account belongs to a sales coordinator for a Coney Island amusement park company named Anthony Grina.

ShutdownCityHallNYCSince Aug. 1 an encampment organized by a Black Lives Matter-associated group called Millions March similar to Occupy Wall Street called #ShutDownCityHallNYC has been taking place in the park, with protesters saying it will continue until the city meets their demands of firing NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton, defunding the police and paying reparations to victims of police brutality and their families. Curiously, Commissioner Bratton, who has been feeling pressure since the death at the hands of police of Eric Garner, resigned the following day, but to date the protest continues with occupiers swelling in numbers.

As #ShutDownCityHallNYC grows, online trolls began stalking them. One in particular gave them more of a concern than others, however. Tweets from @AntDogg_G were more threatening in nature promising and encouraging violence against them, with one reading “”Yes please #AbolishThePolice so the right wing can burn your housing projects down and #MakeAmericaGreatAgain”. A visit to @AntDogg_G’s Twitter page would find similar comments not just about #ShutDownCityHallNYC, but of leftists in general, repeatedly suggesting “free helicopter rides”, a reference to how the late right-wing Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet – a hero among paleoconservatives and the so-called “alternative right” – and his death squad the Caravan of Death would kill some of their victims by tying their victims to pieces of railroad track, loading them into a helicopter and throwing them into the Pacific Ocean. @AntDogg_G also retweeted another alternative right hero, White Supremacist Jared Taylor of American Renaissance, as Taylor attacked Anton Sterling, who was killed by a police officer in Baton Rouge.

Anthony Grina at a Bernie Sanders rally, April, 2016

In April @AntDogg_G tweeted out a picture of himself protesting a rally for then presidential candidate Bernie Sanders while holding a sign reading ‘Coney needs Capitalism.’, an event where he was interviewed by a local blog. “It’s disgraceful that people came out here to support socialism,” Anthony Grina said. “The city destroyed Coney Island when they built the projects.”

Anthony Grina is a Sales Coordinator for Luna Park in Coney Island, an amusement park that opened six years ago on the former Astroland site there.

Grina has since locked his tweets so the public can no longer view them, but his tagline is still visible reading, “Capitalist. Indie Software & Game Developer. I hope commies get thrown from helicopters on live TV.” Luna Park administration did not comment by the time this article was published.
