Roosh V has picked one too many fights with women. So none of us will let him have his army of misogynists.
UPDATE: Within minutes of us posting this article, we learned that Roosh V. posted on his blog that he was canceling the event saying he cannot guarantee the safety of those who try to attend. That’s what happens when you threaten the safety of others your damned self, scumbag. We are not done with you!
The Men’s Rights Activist (MRA) Movement is a modern day incarnation of the Men’s Liberation Movement of the 1970’s which was an oppositional reaction to the women’s Liberation movement. The MRA movement of today started in the 1980’s with the claims that women’s liberation went too far. The demographic for this movement is a disturbingly misogynistic and angry, usually made up of males who have relationship issues. One of the subcultures in the scene are the Pick Up Artists (PUA) who take money from their lonely and socially challenged following on promising them tips and coaching on how to pick up drunk women in bars. Not surprising, there is a lot of crossover from the MRA/PUA scene with the white nationalist scene as white male entitlement and the disdain for modern women is a shared and common ground.
One of the MRA/PUA’s with a cult following is Daryush “Roosh V” Valizadeh, a former scientist and blooger and writer who founded a misogynistic online club called “Return of Kings”. Roosh V, despite his obvious Middle Eastern heritage, is also one of the of the men on the scene who crosses over to associate with the white nationalist movement, as he did when he crashed the National Policy Institute (NPI) conference on October 31, and was welcomed to join the conference with open arms even though he was not a paid attendee.
Now Roosh V is up on the radar screen again as he is urging his anti-woman pro-rape cult following to hold meetups around the world on Feb. 6 2016 at 8 PM.
He claims he has organized 165 meetings in 43 countries for what he calls “International Meetup Day”. Open only to heterosexual males, Roosh V hopes to organize those males into what he calls, “tribes” to advance their beliefs in society. “I’m in touch with a German man whose small city is currently the site of a government-sponsored relocation program for Afro-Islamists,” he wrote. “He stated to me that his city has become more unsafe after dark and he’s starting to feel like a prisoner in his own home, especially since he does not have friendships there with men who are against the immigrant invasion. If he was connected to a tribe within his city, I have no doubt that he’d feel more safe while having the means to improve the situation caused by his government to displace him and reduce his standard of living.”
Roosh V is particularly known for his anti-woman blog posts that have has called for the marginalization of women and, especially appalling, legalization of rape, saying, “If rape becomes legal under my proposal, a girl will protect her body in the same manner that she protects her purse and smartphone.” And adding that if the law were advertised well enough, “rape would be virtually eliminated on the first day it is applied.”
In his 2007 book Bang, a virtual instruction manual for men on how to seduce and rape women RooshV defended his stance. “No means no..until it means yes,” he wrote. “In America, having sex with her would have been rape, since she legally couldn’t give her consent.”
“I know that when it comes to sex, one ounce of hesitation or morality will get me nowhere.”
Efforts have been made to oppose or flat out prevent Roosh V’s meetups. A call to rally against the meetups in Philadelphia, Atlanta, New York, throughout the UK and other areas have been made for the meetup spots in those locations. Australia is contemplating banning him from the country after he said he will enter the country illegally to attend an event there, and protesters in Scotland have called for that nation to ban him as well.
Roosh V noted the possible opposition by saying on Return of Kings that he will defend anyone who that opposition confronts. “I will exact furious retribution upon anyone who challenges you in public on that date (remember to record them)” he wrote. “Therefore let the sixth of February be a clear signal to all that we’re not going anywhere. We have finally arrived.” This would not be the first time he has made threats like this. Last year, he targeted a Canadian woman who simply posted an article about rape culture, calling on his supporters to gather intel on her and to “seduce” and “fuck” her as well as any other woman they target.
Coincidentally, a group of women boxers in the Toronto area plan to participate in protests against Roosh V’s efforts in that town.

OK, I know I come a bit too late, but the men’s liberation movement was *not* an “oppositional reaction” to the women’s liberation movement. On the contrary. Men’s liberationists used the tools of feminism in order to analyse men and masculinity, and free the former from the shackles of the latter. They desired to cooperate with the feminist movement and many of its founders were themselves feminists. Sometime around the late-70s/early-80s they split into an antifeminist MRM and the modern pro-feminist men’s movement.
